Q. What is Intune?

A. Intune is a company, limited by shares, set up by Help the Aged. While Intune’s products are open to consumers of any age, the products and services will be most attractive to – and competitive for – the over 60’s. Intune is a wholly owned subsidiary of the charity.

Q. Why was Intune set up?

A. Intune was set up to enable Help the Aged commercial services to reach their full potential for delivering a substantial income. It has built on the charity’s already successful commercial services offering.

Q. What services and products does Intune offer?

A. While we are open to consumers of any age, our financial services products and services will be most attractive to – and competitive for - the over 60’s. The products are mainly travel, car, home and pet insurance, although it also offers an equity release advice service. In addition, care fees advice services and funeral plans are marketed under the Help the Aged brand.

Q. How is Intune different from other financial services companies?

A. Unlike many other financial services companies, Intune believes that age shouldn’t be a barrier to getting the financial products you need. Therefore, none of Intune’s financial products and services will have an upper age limit, which means that all customers will be treated as individuals, regardless of their age.

Q. How is Intune different to other over 50s financial services providers?

Unlike the vast majority of other financial services companies, the profits from Intune go back into the Charity, helping to fund work that Help the Aged undertakes on behalf of disadvantaged older people. With other providers, all profits are for commercial gain.

Q. Where is the Intune call centre and how many staff work there?

A. The call centres for Intune’s core services are based in Croydon, Bournemouth and Portsmouth with dedicated call centre teams in place.
